Do you want to be part of a rising student brand? We are seeking a part-time Leasing & Resident Services Specialist (both full-time and part-time) to join our awesome team at Smile Student Living.
The Leasing & Resident Services Specialist candidate will embody Fairlawn’s core values: Be Kind, Own It, Be Flexible and Always Improve.
Launched in April 2020, Smile Student Living consists of about 2,100 units and caters to students in Urbana-Champaign.
The Leasing & Resident Services Specialist will provide top-notch customer service while helping prospective students/residents find their perfect campus apartment.
The position is based out of our office location on the University of Illinois campus.
What will you do?
Serve as a leasing agent to match students with their perfect home – this means being well versed with our properties and amenities
Perform full cycle leasing duties including touring prospective residents, processing applications, and applicant follow-up
Assist Leasing and Portfolio Managers with the lease renewal process as well as the creation
Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced office through multiple communication channels (phone, email, text) to maintain positive resident relations
Process maintenance requests, prepare for move-ins and move-outs, maintain resident files
Learn and ensure compliance with all Fair Housing Laws including local, state, and federal housing regulations (We provide training)

Requirements:
Who you are - We’d love to hear from you if you:
Have at least 1 year of customer service experience or 1 year of sales experience (preferably in real estate)
Are proficient with computer applications and software (e.
g.
Microsoft Office Suite, Appfolio, Outlook)
Must be able to obtain Illinois Residential Leasing Agent License within 1 year of employment (IL Properties ONLY)
Have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate superior attention to detail, high energy and positive attitude
Hold a high school diploma or GED

Some additional things you will need:
A valid driver’s license with 2 years of continuous driving history and a dependable vehicle
Availability to work longer hours and weekends during prime leasing season and turnover
Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position, not limited to: ability to walk properties, complete physical inspections, deliver communications and show properties
