We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician to join our awesome team here at Fairlawn! The ideal candidate will embody Fairlawn’s core values: Be Kind, Own It, Be Flexible, and Always Improve.
We are currently searching for an experienced maintenance technician to work at the West Mound location.
The overall objectives for this role will be to ensure all assigned maintenance and service activities are being addressed in an organized, high-quality, and timely manner while providing top-notch customer service.
The ideal candidate will have superior attention to detail and the ability to directly handle a wide range of maintenance activities.
What will you do? Exemplify the core values of Be Kind, Be Flexible, Own it, and Always Improve Directly handle a wide range of maintenance repairs including plumbing, appliances, electrical, roofing inspection/minor roof damage; recommend outsourcing tasks to external vendors as necessary Perform skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures Handle residence turnover including direct participation in turning units, obtaining bids from subcontractors, and small renovation projects Maintain good rapport with current and prospective residents Follow company policies with regard to gaining necessary approvals for any large maintenance tasks/expenditures Complete maintenance requests in a timely manner and document time, expense, and results Regularly assess the property for safety and preventative maintenance opportunities Comply with all OSHA regulations and any applicable laws regarding health, safety, or the environment Assist the Maintenance team in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow Serve as one of the emergency contacts for the communities / Availability to be on-call and assist in after-hours emergency situation Learn and ensure compliance with all Fair Housing Laws including local, state, and federal housing regulations (We provide training!)
