Description: We’re seeking an exceptional individual to lead our marketing and sales efforts at Fairlawn.
As the Head of Marketing and Sales, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape this role and further develop our marketing and sales functions.
From crafting leasing initiatives to shaping corporate branding, you’ll lead with boundless creativity, visionary insight, and just a hint of magic.
Fairlawn is a rapidly growing, fully integrated real estate firm specializing in value-added and ground-up development projects in the Midwest.
With plans to expand into multiple new markets over the next three years and grow our portfolio from 5,400 to 10,000+ units, we need someone who can blend creativity, analytical thinking, and leadership skills to drive our growth through effective marketing strategies and sales execution.

This corporate role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and offers the option to be based in either our Champaign or Chicago offices.
What will you do? Champion our core values in every aspect of your work Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to boost leasing and occupancy rates across our properties Lead and manage a team responsible for brand management, advertising, digital marketing, social media, and public relations efforts Collaborate with internal teams to identify market trends, competitive intelligence, and resident preferences to inform marketing strategies Utilize data analytics to measure and optimize marketing performance, including lead generation, conversion rates, and ROI Oversee the design and implementation of marketing collateral, website content, and digital campaigns, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners, vendors, community leaders, and industry stakeholders to enhance visibility and drive positive brand perception and leasing activity Proactively plan and communicate to secure positive media coverage, and adeptly address any negative publicity or crisis situations.
Craft precise and cohesive messaging and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally, serving as a model to others within our organization Create cohesion within the company and promote company culture through training, organization and attendance of team events Participate on our Senior Leadership Team, collaborating with leaders across various disciplines to address issues and drive the company’s strategic priorities Learn and ensure compliance with all Fair Housing Laws including local, state, and federal housing regulations (We provide training) Pivot, roll up your sleeves and jump in where needed Why should you work here? Plus, the process is rewarding, and the results are great for your career Requirements: Who you are – We’d love to hear from you if you: Have an undergraduate degree (in a relevant discipline including marketing, communications, hospitality, business administration or advertising) Have at least ten years of marketing and sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the real estate industry Have at least 5 years of direct people management experience, with demonstrated experience successfully building, leading, and managing teams Have a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive leasing and occupancy growth Have knowledge of real estate market dynamics, multifamily housing trends, and property and asset management best practices Are a creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement Are proficient with relevant technology (e.

Availability to work longer hours and weekends during peak times including onboarding new properties and summer turnover Ability to travel and work remotely Must be able to complete the physical functions of the position including, but not limited to the ability to walk properties and complete physical inspections, able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business, Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers, and regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
