Prairie State Bank & Trust, a locally owned $800 million bank with 20 offices in Central Illinois has an immediate opening for a Loan Administrator in Mt.
Zion, IL.

In this position you will help facilitate the lending function for in-house commercial and consumer purpose loans and for secondary market home loans for our community bank.
You will help the lenders manage their existing loan portfolios as well as process new requests and perform loan customer service related duties.
In addition, other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Primary Goals, Responsibilities and Expectations for your Position: In this position, you will be responsible for many functions involved with the origination and management of loans to commercial and consumer customers, along with helping with all other banking needs and service questions those customers may have.
Major responsibilities include: Communicating with customers, assisting lenders with all service-related communications.
This may include serving as a liaison between customers and lenders when lenders are working out of the office for various types of requests and assisting customers with questions and problem-solving.
Developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of loan documentation, ensuring that terms are accurately reflected and the bank’s intended collateral position is achieved and preserved Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the various banking regulations that govern the lending activities in which the bank is engaged and manage the loan portfolio to a high level of compliance with these regulations Managing the loan origination and closing process including the recording of loans on the bank’s core data system, interface with third party providers for such things as appraisals and real estate title work, and tracking of outstanding documentation items Preparation of periodic EXCEL based financial statements designed to monitor regional performance Assist in preparing and organizing the process for loans meeting the criteria for annual financial collection and formal review of customer relationships Regularly running and delivering reports to aid in the management of the region’s loan portfolio.
Using information from regularly available reports, investigate items which appear unusual or irregular to identify potential posting or other errors Traits or Skills Helpful for Success in this Position: Being detail-oriented Being able to work under pressure of deadlines Having strong oral and written skills Working with Microsoft Word and Excel Quickly learning new processes An ability to walk customers through closing processes in person, via phone, in writing and through Teams or Zoom Being able to work independently Displaying a professional attitude Maintaining a positive attitude while able to adapt to potentially quickly changing priorities Training: The training for this position is extensive due to the widely varying responsibilities involved in what is one of the most important services offered by the bank to its customers and within its community, that of making loans.
There is significant up front training on regulations and on certain position responsibilities, but much of this position is learned over time and through on-the-job training.
Loan situations may be unique.
Most individuals in this position find it takes three to six months before they begin to feel comfortable and confident in the role.
Some training may require travel to either Bloomington, Mt.
Zion or Charleston.
There is a bank-wide training day held on the Martin Luther King Holiday at which attendance is mandatory.
All other training, while significant at the onset, has more flexibility as to when it is scheduled.
All candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment credit background check.
