Job Description
Manufacturer of industrial and consumer products needs a Mechanical Engineer.
You will work with Product Engineering to design products and tooling.
Working closely with tool room and maintenance people, you will ensure that tool designs can be produced in-house.
Design roll tools, winding tools, and supporting tooling components for new products or product improvements
Analyze existing tooling designs and identify improvements that affect tool life and production standards
Create 2D prints of tooling and machinery components that can be made by turning, milling, grinding, etc.
Create 3D CAD assemblies to determine positioning of tooling
Lead new tooling trials, validate new tool designs, control tooling documents, maintain tooling database
Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred, plus at least two years’ experience in tooling design.
Machine design experience is a plus.
Excellent computer skills in 3D solid modeling, CAD/CAM, MS Office, and database software
Experience with Failure Effect Analysis simulations
