Job Description Summary of Position: The Quality Group Leader coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspecting and testing assembled parts, components, and subassemblies held to the highest quality standards as product proceeds through stages of the assembly process, applying knowledge of Quality Standards and Procedures.
This position reviews Quality work instructions, assembly specification, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and testing, sequence of operations, and work assignments in order to meet customer specifications and demands.
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to): Direct and coordinate quality activities to ensure all company, customer, and regulatory standards are met with the highest quality standards.
Review schedules, production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
Work with Human Resources to hire, train, evaluate, coach, resolve employee concerns, and process terminations.
Support team leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
Support and consult with other department leadership to solve work-related problems.
Control and minimize labor overtime costs within department.
Prepare and maintain detailed Quality reports for proper action and recording.
Work with Quality Management in setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
Assist in developing and implementing production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
Provides direction, development and leadership to team.
Oversee the performance of layered audits and quality checks as needed throughout the entire cycle of the seat process and all the included parts.
Ability to review parts and make determinations if they pass/fail the quality standards Work with various departments’ Supervisors and Managers in setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality Assist in the set-up and calibration of gauging and measuring devices; train floor associates on using gauges and measuring devices Performs any variety of operational tasks and workstations within the Quality Department to maintain positive flow of work.
Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as, ISO 9001, TS16949, and IATF16949.
Support and adhere to 5S to keep work site clean and orderly consistently improving appearance of the team’s area.
Active in following 5s—Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain organization of work area.
Collaborate with Team Members, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and/or other members of Hyundai Transys to be active contributors to the team.
Attend all required training as assigned.
Comply with and promote company practices and policies in all areas including Safety, Standards of Conduct, Quality, Performance, and Communication.
Be flexible in work to support continuous improvement activities that will ensure personal and company growth.
Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quality Supervisor or Team Lead in automotive manufacturing Experience in automotive seating manufacturing is a plus Technical Skills: Must be proficient skills in math, reading and writing.
Must be able to identify visual defects and assist in making quality decisions.
Must be able to properly use quality gages, tools, and devices.
Knowledge of Quality Systems including TS16949, ISO and QS is preferred.
Knowledge of Kaizen, 5-S, lean manufacturing, KANBAN, TPS QS is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Must be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving Ability to have a strong focus, patience, self-confidence and professionalism Proven experience with complex data and problem analysis, root cause techniques, and solution Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, with an emphasis on being proactive Positively interact, motivate, and influence people of diverse cultural backgrounds and with all levels employee, customer, vendors Must have effective oral and written communication skills with all levels employee, customer, vendors Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP experience a plus Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
