The Selling Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the Sales Manager in the development and performance of all sales activities and sales staff.
The Selling Sales Manager is accountable for assisting the Sales Manager in directing the sales team and exceeding monthly Store goals by coaching and mentoring each Sales Associate to meet their individual sales quota and achieving maximum profitability and growth in line with Ashley Home Store’s vision and values.
Overall, the Selling Sales Manager contributes to the Ashley high performance culture by modeling our core values and engaging in sales activities that keep the Ashley brand as the #1 home furnishings market leader in style, selection, quality and value.
Develops Sales Professionals by training and implementing the company’s sales strategies in conjunction with the Sales ManagerImplements company’s sales programs to ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability Understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance Assists the Sales Manager with conducting weekly one-on-one review with each Retail Sales Professional and Selling Assistant Manager to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance Assist in customer service issues that affect the sales department Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance of sales goals and employee relations.
Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Professionals Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Adheres and effectively executes the company’s standard selling processes, assuring all DC’s are executing the fundamentals of selling as set by the company.
Conduct sales meetings every other weekend with sales staff, following the company meeting guidelines Directs traffic during busy times to ensure all customers are being serviced according to the World Class Selling Basics as set by the company Abide by the Manager Integrity Statement and always uphold company values Communicate masterfully at all levels, ability to write and speak clearly and informatively Recruit Retail Sales Professionals Take customer overflow to assist and close sales in addition to being in the Upboard rotation leadership and mentoring of underperforming design consultants and coordinate with the Corporate Sales Trainer action plans for their improvement Performs nightly checkouts for each associate and monitors the integrity of Trax traffic and opportunity data Key holder in charge of closing store down and closing processes Secondary Job Functions Learns the furniture retail industry as a whole to establish a strong understanding of Ashley’s products and their positioning in the marketplace, as well as the processes and procedures in how the business is operated.
Schedule Expectations The manager will work a minimum of 45 hours per week, which includes weekends, holidays and evenings.
Hours will increase during specific events, holidays or blackout periods, or to meet other business needs.
Regular attendance at the assigned store in accordance with these expectations is an essential function of the job and all job functions are performed at the designated job location.
The incumbent will occasionally travel to other locations to attend training and meetings.
