*About the Position* The Multimedia Designer is responsible for crafting the visual and digital communication efforts of the Learning Technology Center.
The Multimedia Designer possesses an acute attention to detail in typography, graphic design, written and visual communications, and video editing.
This person will bring to life ideas through digital and print pieces and contribute to creating a compelling brand that reflects our mission -- empowering educational change through technology.
*Work Location: *Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education, 3358 Big Pine Trail, Champaign, IL 61822 *PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES* *Design/Development – 85%* * Prepares original designs for print and digital communications, including web, email, social media, newsletters, and member building materials.
* Assists with establishing, developing, and maintaining brand guidelines.
* Assists in translating marketing objectives into creating strategies and executing designs and plans for all print and digital media.
* Assists with production and coordination of multimedia and video projects.
* Coordinates and perform as necessary, photographic assignments for publications, video, displays, etc.
* Serves as a consultant to LTC Staff on problems of a design nature.
*Strategic Planning/Administration – 10%* * Supports the Digital Content Manager to draft clear product marketing copy, promotional materials, and marketing literature to augment the program’s presence in the education market.
* Serves as liaison with outside vendors including press and pre-press operators, printers, and suppliers.
* Obtain estimates and procedural information for all jobs, which require outside services and/or materials.
* Assists with monitoring expenditures in the graphics/video area and assist supervisor in developing fiscal year budget requests.
* Oversees interns, when applicable.
*Other – 5%* * Builds and maintains trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Identifies, tracks, and meets key performance goals that are ambitious, realistic, and aligned with department and organizational goals.
* Provides accurate reporting of activities.
* *Supports and leads special projects as applicable.
* * Maintains knowledge of LTC programs, initiatives, and services.
* *Remains knowledgeable of K-12 educational technology and best practices.
* * Performs other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS* * *Design Knowledge.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of digital and print production, awareness of current trends in design and production; and experience with video production, editing, and design principles.
* *Self-Motivation & Self-Starter.
* Demonstrate the ability to proactively manage and prioritize multiple tasks without micromanagement.
Passionate about supporting school districts and educators and committed to meeting deadline in a fast-paced environment.
* *Project Management.
* Exceptional project management skills with a proven track record of being a solution-oriented, positive, and growth-minded leader.
* *Communication.
* Excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to clearly communicate with superintendents, district and organization leaders, and educators.
* *Technical Skills.
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Content Management Systems (Wordpress), Video and Digital Asset Programs (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Canva,).
Proficiency in all Google Workplace tools as well as presentation design (Google Slides or equivalent).
* *Professional Experience.
* Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Multimedia Designer and/or similar role.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional work experience in marketing, strategic communications, graphic design, video editing and/or a related profession.
A portfolio demonstrating competency is required.
