Im looking for a temporary living situation starting April 1st and extending to June or July - until my permanent lease begins around that time.
I am open to subleasing, month-to-month, or work trade in exchange for my stay.
A little about me: I am a recent graduate and professional in my early 30s.
I am currently "floating" while waiting for the results from job interviews (in academia), and working on PhD applications.
Currently working remotely and waiting tables.
I am quiet, clean, and respectful.
Non smoker, non partier.
I enjoy reading, gardening, biking around town, Iyengar yoga, meditation, and exploring the local parks.
I have very few personal items and do not need any furniture, although this is welcome.
I also don't have a vehicle, just my bike!
What I'm looking for: a quiet, clean room or small apartment where I can focus on my work and enjoy a peaceful spring.
My ideal situation would be with mature graduate students needing to fill a spot, or in an elderly woman or couple's home needing help with chores or gardening.
I have references for house sitting and rental history.
Since I do not have a vehicle, it is important to be within walking distance in town.
I hope to find a temporary place in South West Urbana or South East Champaign.
Ideally a place with lots of natural light, and a front porch or backyard to sit in and read (this is negotiable of course).
Work exchange offerings: I have experience as a professional "green" house cleaner using natural ingredients and do not mind offering deep cleaning services (I have respiratory issues, so a clean living environment is essential.
No mold, neglect, trash accumulation, or indoor smoking please).
I am also a professional chef and would be happy to contribute meals! Gardening is my passion and I would love to help you prepare your garden for the season.
