We are currently searching for an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee small to large new construction projects in Central Illinois, and renovation projects at existing properties.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced construction professional who can assist in all aspects of construction and job site coordination.
Further, the ideal candidate will be able to effectively work in the field as a working foreman, and perform skilled framing, and finished carpentry jobs, when necessary.
Duties will sometimes require traveling (day trips and possibly overnight) to regional properties throughout Illinois and Indiana, for the purpose of supervising the job site activities of contractors, supervising other employees, and maintaining full oversight of construction/renovation projects.
The ideal candidate will have superior attention to detail and the ability to directly handle a wide range of activities.

• Coordinate with all field personnel and trade contractors to ensure that the project is successfully completed on schedule and within budget.
• Review work progress daily and maintain timely construction logs.
Prepare weekly construction reports and monitor status to ensure the project is meeting deadlines.
• Develop professional and positive relationships with tenants, trade contractors, suppliers, and employees.
• Maintain an organized and safe worksite by ensuring that all OSHA and Environmental safety policies and regulations are followed.
Promote job site safety, institute safe work practices, and immediately address and rectify any job site hazards and unsafe worksite practices.
• Work effectively with subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship in accordance with project plans and specifications as well as client requirements.
• Confirm all layout measurements and site conditions prior to the start of work.
Coordinate all job site access, equipment, and materials.
• Manage project construction schedule and coordinate with all parties to ensure the project is completed by the completion date.
• Foresee potential problems, communicate job progress, and coordinate issues with the Project Manager.
Generate RFIs and potential change orders for action by the Project Manager.
• Maintain effective relations with local building officials and inspectors.
Schedules all necessary inspections and material delivery in a manner that ensures on-time schedule performance.
• Coordinate with vendors on orders and deliveries.
• Prepare schedules and execute final punch lists.
• Lead remodel projects, working as lead carpenter at the job site.
• Understand blueprint drawings and written specifications.
Also, understand work orders, change orders,carpentry-related and all other carpentry related job documents.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry to the company’s standard of quality and according to the plans and specifications.
• Pivot, roll up your sleeves, and jump in where needed! Requirements: Who you are – We’d love to hear from you if you: • Have a High School diploma or GED • Trade school or associate degree (Construction Management/Engineering), preferred • Have at least 5 years of recent general construction field experience in residential, commercial, or multi-family construction.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes • Have experience supervising job site projects with multiple subcontractors • Have completed the OSHA 30 course at a minimum (or ability to complete the course within 3 months of hire) • Have a valid driver’s license • Can work independently and work closely with other team members • Demonstrate superior attention to detail, high energy, and positive attitude • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Average level of computer skills including Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet knowledge preferred.
