Job Summary
Responsible for the development and documentation of critical operational and strategic projects.
Ensures the consistent application of project management standards including the approval and prioritization of processes and resource management across the department.
Maintains systems that permit monitoring and tracking of project schedules, goals, and budgets.
All University Housing staff will engage and contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within University Housing.
Duties & Responsibilities Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resources plans and status reports, and manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project.
Monitor the status of all projects in the portfolio and provide updates to the Executive Team, Project Sponsors and Project Leaders.
Facilitate project meetings and communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully and propose solutions.
Provide leadership and management oversight using formal Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) methodologies used to plan, track, and report on projects.
Work with Executive Team, Project Sponsors and Project Leaders to establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Maintain project documentation making sure all project documents are complete, signed, current and stored appropriately.
Coordinate the implementation of consistent project management techniques across University Housing and provide technical and analytical guidance to other project management efforts in University Housing.
Create an open environment where conflicts on project priorities and funding decisions are aired and resolved in an objective manner.
Work collaboratively with various University Housing units to evaluate and implement shared service and business process improvement concepts where feasible and beneficial to each individual unit and University Housing administration.
Coordinate and facilitate University Housing strategic initiatives at the direction of the Executive Director of University Housing and Executive Team.
Chair or otherwise serve on various University Housing committees and coordinate membership, goals, and objectives for those committees.
Represent University Housing on campus-wide committees and initiatives.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Physical Demands Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Most work will be accomplished in a typical office work environment but may include visits to different residence halls and dining halls.
Hours of work are as necessary to accomplish the position’s assigned responsibilities, this may include some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Three (3) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications Formal training and project management certifications.
Experience with Microsoft project.
Experience in project portfolio management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of principles and procedures applied in a project management environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain high quality and productivity under pressure.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Ability to work independently and pursue innovative solutions.
Ability to lead (and direct others to lead) large, cross-functional projects.
Ability to manage project teams consisting of internal and external team members and external consultants and third-party solution providers.
Proficiency with computers in a Windows environment.
Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is on or about 6/16/24.
Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $74,0000 annually.

The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
