SUMMARY The Liquor Manager manages department operations including but not limited to maximizing gross margins, ensuring sales production, controlling inventory and expenses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for company assets including receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control, and inventory Providing genuine customer care Ordering product, stocking and building displays Weekly ordering lottery tickets and monthly taking lottery inventory Training, supervising, and scheduling of Associates Meet with Business Representatives Quarterly takes inventory of Liquor Department Signage and tagging of all product Follows all store and department policies and procedures Enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model Other duties as assigned by supervisor KEY ATTRIBUTES Must be 21 years or older Product Minded Customer Minded Personnel Minded Problem Solving Goal Orientated Communication Skills Organizational Skills Leadership skills Friendly Integrity High Energy Level Ability to multi-task SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises a varied number of Associates in the Liquor Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One to three months related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or government regulations.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.
