CNA Tenure-Track Faculty/Program Director
Application Close Date/Time: Monday, January 15th, at 6PM CT
This position is a Full-Time, Tenure-Track, Parkland Academic Employees (PAE) appointment.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Tenure-Track Faculty teach a full-time load as per the PAE bargaining agreement.
They advise and mentor students and participate in governance of their departments and the college.
The Program Director coordinates the activities related to their particular career program or subject area(s).

Essential Job Functions Teaching Functions: Teach program courses; conduct program evaluation; lead strategic planning and its administration.
Select and manage part-time faculty and program personnel.
Prepare and manage the program budget; maintain accreditation.
Performs professional clinical duties in accordance with established policies and procedures of the clinical faculty, the Health Professionals Department, Parkland College, and Illinois state law.
Maintains all professional credentials required to teach in area of discipline.
Collaborate within the department and within the college; and commitment to improvement strategies for the college and profession.
Performs professional duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the college.
Provides classroom instruction in accordance with the stated philosophy, objectives, and established course outlines of the college.
Informs students of course regulations, evaluation procedures, and other information pertinent to the course; prepares a course syllabus for each course and distributes it early in each term.
Is available for student advising/mentoring.
Maintains regular office hours to ensure availability for student consultation; provides assistance to students in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate scholastic records of students; submits required reports on student progress according to published deadlines.
Participates in student recruitment and retention efforts.
Program Director Functions: Coordinates the activities of a designated faculty group consistent with the general and specific objectives of the College, and in accordance with procedures established by the Dean.
Assists faculty members in improving the department quality of their courses and programs.
Assists the Dean in evaluating faculty, and makes recommendations to the Dean regarding Part-Time Faculty and other personnel matters.
Assists the Dean in budget preparation and control expenditures and initiates supply and equipment requisitions for the Dean’s approval.
Assist the Dean with external relations.
Works closely with advisory and faculty committees to maintain and improve the quality of course and programs.
Works as liaison between appropriate agencies in the community.
Assists in program evaluation and accreditation procedures.
Assists in the placement and follow-up of students.
Works with faculty to facilitate text selection.
Assists faculty in resolving student issues.
Assists the Dean with equipment maintenance and repair.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean or Assistant Deans.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a current Illinois State practical or registered nurse licensure.
Five (5) years of documented experience in the nursing field.
This experience must include: Clinical practice as a CNA; one year experience caring for the chronically ill, elderly, or in the provision of long-term care services.
Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
IDPH Train the Trainer course or two years of experience teaching CNAs Knowledgeable concerning national curricula, national accreditation, national registration, and requirements for state certification and licensure.
Maintains all professional credentials required to teach in area of discipline.
Ability to learn the Parkland information system and new programs as technology changes.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting and drug test.
In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.
