Academic Hourly - Research Technician Department of Biochemistry The Department of Biochemistry seeks qualified candidates for the academic hourly position of Academic Hourly - Research Technician.
The Academic Hourly Research Technician will provide technical assistance to support active research under the direction of the PI and day-to-day operations of our research laboratory.
Duties & Responsibilities Cell culture experiments Recombinant protein expression Molecular biology experiments, including PCR and cloning Data analysis Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in biology or related field.
Bachelor of Science degree in biology or related field Preferred Qualifications Knowledge or experience in protein expression and purification.
Knowledge in virology and immunology Successful candidates will have: Familiar with routine laboratory procedures and overall lab organization Ability to use laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, balances, and pipettes Basic molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, sequencing Knowledge or experience in cell culture.
Knowledge of general lab equipment Able to follow standard operating procedures and detailed instructions Highly motivated and able to work independently Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and multi-task Knowledge or experience in protein expression and purification Knowledge in virology and immunology Appointment Information This is a part-time academic hourly position.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/16/2024.
Starting hourly salary is $20.
