The LAS Student Academic Affairs Office (SAAO) supports the academic, personal, and professional development of every student.

Job Summary The coordinator will assist primarily in LAS college recruitment and admissions activities, including application reviews specializing in U.
S.
and international transfer reviews, and advising and registration of pre-enrolled/new transfer students, and recruitment event support.
Duties & Responsibilities Review of applications Review new first-year, transfer, non-degree, and other applications and collaborate in rendering decisions.
Initial college reviewer for new transfer and non-degree applications and collaborate in rendering decisions with LAS admissions team.
Coordinate with LAS Recruitment and Admissions, ATLAS, and OUA to review student applications and make admissions decisions for the new online Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) degree program.
Coordination of recruitment and admissions activities Give presentations at recruitment and yield events on/off-campus and online.
Contribute to all new student registration-orientation activities and assessment, including assisting in advisor training, monitoring course availability and communicating it to advisors, and assisting in coordinating information and communications.
Collaborate with the SAAO Recruitment and Admissions unit and departments to develop and conduct new recruitment activities targeted at community colleges and students not traditionally served by LAS.
Assist Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions as requested, including collecting information and data related to recruitment scholarships and conducting surveys to assess the prospective and admitted student experience Advising Primary new student advisor to U.
S.
based transfer students and assist with advising of LAS BSLAS and BALAS students.
Assist with new student registration and advising.
Participate in walk-in advising duty rotation for LAS SAAO and related student advising and administration activities, including end of term grade audit/academic progress monitoring, assistance in LAS probation program, policy and process reviews.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, education, humanities, public relations, social sciences, or a field related to the position.
Two (2) years (24 months) of professional work experience in admissions, records, registration, and/or closely related experience in recruitment and/or advising.
(NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
) Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree, preferably in higher ed administration-related field or liberal arts and sciences.
A total of three (3) years professional experience in undergraduate admissions, recruitment and/or advising coordinating application review, outreach, or academic advising/student counseling.
Experience understanding higher ed and/or student academic affairs.
Excellent ability to work independently and collaboratively with on/off-campus constituencies.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Evidence of ability to make effective and engaging public and online presentations to diverse audiences, including prospective and current students and parents.
Knowledge of Illinois resources and campus systems such as Banner, U.
Achieve, and Slate.
Significant intercultural skills and experience with diverse student populations.
Graduate studies or similar demonstrated interest in issues surrounding undergraduate education, especially in advising or student development.
Appointment Information The unit is searching for two 100% full-time Civil Service 2753 - Admissions and Records Associate positions, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date.
The target salary for this position is $49,000.
Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints.
