Job Summary
Coordinate Council on Teacher Education (CoTE) processes focused on admission to initial licensure programs; coordinate CoTE processes related to issuing and redeeming tuition and fee waivers; provide general administrative support to the unit and the executive director and associate director.
Licensure Support Activities
Collaborate with university staff in and outside of the unit to implement and evaluate processes and procedures related to candidate admission to professional educator licensure programs.
Work collaboratively with the unit team to complete licensure-related tasks.
Tuition and Fee Waiver Management
Liaise with campus offices on issues related to CoTE tuition and fee waiver distribution and redemption.
Liaise with school district representatives and with waiver recipients on issues related to CoTE tuition and fee waivers.
Implement unit processes and enter data associated with waiver distribution and redemption.
Prepare and distribute communications related to CoTE tuition and fee waiver receipt and redemption.
Unit Support Activities
Respond independently to incoming office correspondence, telephone calls, help requests, and visitors within scope of responsibility and re-direct others to appropriate unit staff; demonstrate excellent customer service, including identification of customer needs and assessment of customer satisfaction.
Function as primary purchasing card (P-card) and travel card (T-card) holder for the unit with responsibility for understanding correct policies and procedures for purchases.
Support unit staff in organizing meetings and special events.
Other unit support activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Work experience in preK-12 schools or higher education program support or administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Educational background or work experience that provides a general understanding of higher education preservice educator preparation or student affairs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Flexibility and ability to accurately perform responsibilities with regular procedural changes and minimal supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to requests for guidance or clarification
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, as well as willingness and ability to learn new software as needed
Ability to multi-task, while coping with interruptions and maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor
Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy in completing complex tasks
Mature judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality, as well as to determine what information can be given to whom and when in accordance with FERPA and business practices of CoTE
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5001 - Program Assistant position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after closing.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
