Job Description
The CTE (Career and Technical Education) Navigator serves as the primary contact for a designated group of students enrolled in CTE Programs, offering guidance for academic success, overseeing the enrollment and program completion processes.
Their role includes motivating, advising, assisting with course selection, and supporting students throughout the enrollment journey to ensure they achieve their educational objectives.
The Navigator is committed to delivering outstanding student services by actively engaging, advising, and providing comprehensive
coaching to enhance student engagement, retention, persistence, and graduation.
Additionally, they facilitate connections with local employment providers to further support students in their career endeavors.
The Navigator cultivates relationships with both traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
This position will develop a sense of belonging through providing excellent service to prospective healthcare and workforce professionals during the recruitment and admissions process and throughout the program.
The navigator serves as an intersection between Richland Community College, Employment Providers and future healthcare and workforce professionals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required in education, social sciences, or related field.
1-2 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrates an understanding of, and a commitment to, the community college mission and student population.
Must maintain a current Illinois Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or closely related field and 3-5 years relevant experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds and set up recruitment displays
Expected Hours of Work
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, with occasional evening or weekend hours.
Summer hours may vary.
Eligible for flexible work arrangement after 120 days.
TRAVEL
Frequent local and area travel is expected.
Participation at in-state or out-of-state meetings and/or conferences may require overnight travel.
Salary Pay Grade E-10 Minimum Starting $47,093
