Part-time, Project READ Site Coordinator

The Project READ Site Coordinator supports the Illinois Secretary of State’s Adult Volunteer Literacy program, Project READ.
The Project READ Site Coordinator will focus on providing support and assistance to volunteer tutors and students.
The Site Coordinator will assist with the operation of the Parent Family Learning Lab in partnership with Champaign Schools and Douglas Branch Library.
This is a part-time, 19 hours-per-week position with an hourly pay rate of $21.

Essential Functions
Recruit volunteer tutors and students.
Assist with intake and testing of new students.
Provide program orientation to volunteers.
Provide ongoing tutor/student support.
Assist with tutor training.
Assist in making appropriate placements and matches.
Collect tutor/student data and submit to program assistant for data entry.
Coordinate with Program Manager for tutor/student recognition events.
Prepare and distribute quarterly newsletter to tutors and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
Experience working with adults and volunteers.
An understanding of grant-funded programs.
Excellent recordkeeping and communication skills.
