Senior Classroom and Conference Technology Analyst - Gies College of Business

Job Summary
The Senior Classroom and Conference Technology Analyst will work collaboratively as a part of the Gies Help Desk classroom and conference technology team to provide technical leadership, coordination, and support of IT Partners classroom and conference services that support instructional and administrative functions in the college.
Duties & Responsibilities Plan and implement modern and reliable A/V and conferencing solutions to support the instructional and administrative functions of the college Operate and maintain classroom projectors, computers, digital signage, and A/V equipment in college-managed classrooms across multiple buildings Cooperate with Director of Classroom and Conference Technology to anticipate and plan for future A/V needs for the college Provide documentation and training on the use of technology (both hardware and software) in classroom and conference spaces in the college Troubleshoot and resolve operating system, software, hardware, network, and A/V issues Participate in and contribute to IT Partners @ Gies initiatives related to infrastructure and support services Provide technical consulting for live events including occasional after-hours and weekends Implement and support best practice standards in cooperation with IT Partners @ Gies infrastructure and support services Contribute to campus technology initiatives and workgroups that further the mission of the college May supervise student worker tasks • Other duties as required and/or assigned by Director of Classroom and Conference Technology Physical Demands Lifting/Carrying : Occasionally carts available for transportation of equipment Climbing : Occasionally Additional Physical Demands • Able to climb ladders • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Specialty Factors • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of work experience in IT‐related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline may be substituted as follows: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year, Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months, 90 semester hours equals two (2) years, Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years).
• Demonstrated experience in managing Audio/Video conferencing solutions and equipment, such as projectors, microphones, video cameras, and video conferencing room systems.
Preferred Qualifications • Four years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated success in managing technology infrastructure • Proficiency in programming and customization of classroom A/V control systems (Experience with Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, or similar A/V control systems) • Experience with AV over IP endpoints • Experience with Microsoft Windows-based PCs, Apple laptops and mobile devices, and Ethernet and wireless networks • Experience with working as part of collaborative and diverse teams in support of common objectives • Experience in technology support in an institution of higher education or equivalent environment Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, or similar A/V control system certification, Level 1 or higher Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Able to deliver excellent customer service by responding to requests in person, on the phone, or via email in a timely, polite, and professional manner Able to work flexible hours when necessary Able to communicate well and effectively interact with a diverse customer population Able to complete most work with limited supervision, appropriately judging when to seek assistance or guidance from subject experts or management Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search close date.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
The salary range for this position starts at $60,000.
