OVAEL Program Assistant - Gies College of Business Origin Ventures Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership Job Summary This role features a broad set of related responsibilities: operations and student-facing support for activities across OVAEL, directly supporting student leaders and learners, and supporting analytics and research on our programs.
Duties & Responsibilities Administration Operations and student-facing support for activities across iVenture Accelerator.
Assist with processing, tracking, and reporting for each iVenture Accelerator cohort including stipends, capacity funding, and registration.
Coordinate program fellowship.
These program fellows constitute significant roles across the OVAEL suite of programs that includes operations, marketing, and analytics.
Build and maintain systems for information sharing between teams, iVenture staff, and iVenture coaches and other faculty/staff working on OVAEL initiatives.
Support general operations of the iVenture Accelerator and other OVAEL programs to create a conducive working environment, provide excellent knowledge and advising, and successful event management.
Coordinate and remain up-to-date on entrepreneurship opportunities and encourage participation within cohort and academy members.
For example: Illinois Innovation Network, Discovery Partners Institute, Siebel Center for Design, Research Park, Champaign Country Small Business Development Corporation, Illinois Small Business Authority.
Point of contact for student startups.
Program Evaluation, Improvement and Intellectual Leadership Analyze the OVAEL programs as a whole to understand how they can become better – work with the program team leaders to develop and implement tools to measure the effectiveness of OVAEL programs.
Manage program data; summarize and report on program performance and impact on ecosystem.
Work with Program Directors and Faculty Directors on individual and venture data.
Recruitment for iVenture Accelerator and other OVAEL programs.
Perform related duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated work experience in project or program coordination or management.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, innovative business solutions, and cloud-based software platforms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Able to exercise good judgment in scheduling priorities, ensuring work assigned is completed in a timely manner.
Good administrative skills, ability to work in an environment having interruptions, changing deadlines and priorities and varying workloads.
Initiative, integrity, discretion, and willingness to learn new skills and improve productivity.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to maintain a positive attitude, be punctual, and exhibit reasonable flexibility in carrying out the duties assigned.
Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5001 - Program Assistant position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search closing date.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
The salary range for this position starts at $45,000.
