SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT INTERN

As a Software Development Intern, you will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified professionals across Brunswick to help create high-quality products and further the goals of the organization in electrification and autonomy.
    
Timing:
This position is for a year-round internship at   Brunswick i-Jet Lab in Research Park at UIUC  
Full-time internship during Summer 2024,40 hours per week with a potential part-time   
extension into the following year (8 in-person minimum/20 maximum)   
As the Software Development Intern, you will:
Write well-designed , testable, efficient code by using best software development practices    
Work on integrating new hardware into our current solutions  
Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs   
Create and maintain software documentation   
Use design thinking to help create interfaces and experiences   
Qualifications of a Successful Candidate:
To be considered for the internship, candidates must have permanent US Work authorization  
Current enrollment in a BS or Master’s program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
Prior experience in a professional setting: leadership experience, internships, and related RSOs
Knowledge of the following languages:    - Python   - C++   
Experience using embedded systems  
Knowledge of CAN communication protocol is a plus
Mobile/Web App development experience is a plus.
