The Martinelli's Market Team Member will prepare made to order food, assist in cleaning and dishwashing duties, and prepare ingredients to quality standards.
Part-time position available
Approximately 20-25 hours per week
MUST be available weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
* Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
* Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
* Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
* Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
* Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
* Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
* Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
* Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
* Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to read and follow instructions.
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
* Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
* Willingness to learn and grow.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
* Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the restaurant.
* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
* May be required work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environment.
