*HIRING FOR PART TIME or FULL TIME DAY/EVENING & WEEKENDS COOKS *
· Assist chef in all aspects of department operations and assume responsibility in his/her absence.
· Prepare and/or cook hot and cold foods according to published menu and timetable prepared by chef.
Ensure that proper quantities of each menu item are available.
· During food service hours, plate up menu items in prescribed portions according to written orders turned in by servers.
Ensure appetizing presentation.
· Assist in maintaining food inventories and assist chef with ordering as needed.
Ensure that food is properly stored.
Recommend new recipes and menu combinations, as well as more efficient ways of providing excellent food and service.
· Supervise work of prep cooks and dishwashers, providing direction and instruction as needed.
· Supervise front of house staff, including prompt and friendly order-taking, accurate food delivery, tables being set, cleared, and cleaned properly, availability of condiments, etc.
· Oversee cleaning and sanitation associated with the kitchen, dining room, and food storage
areas and document temperature checks of walk-in cooler and freezer.
· Perform general responsibilities of staff members as listed in the employee manual and department procedures: respond to resident problems and requests and facility emergencies; attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.
· Perform any additional responsibilities as indicated by the chef or executive director.
· Maintain strictest level of confidentiality and represent Eden in a professional manner at all times.
Must Have Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification.
