Purpose of Position:
The Boys and Girls Club of Decatur is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Development Specialist for our exciting Summer Camp program.
This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
Working under the supervision of the Program Director, you will lead program activities aimed at fostering academic success, good character and leadership, and healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being during all activities and outings.
- Organize and lead field trips, ensuring all necessary precautions are taken for the safety of the children.
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities for groups of up to 15 youth, tailored to their interests and developmental needs.
- Actively contribute ideas for the ongoing development and improvement of the summer camp program.
- Encourage and motivate children to participate in a wide range of program activities, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Design and implement lessons and activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical activity.
- Maintain high standards of program quality and safety, adhering to all relevant guidelines and protocols.
