Hello - I picked this up at a local estate sale.
The wood is what attracted me to it.
It had some dirt on it
- but - I could tell that it would clean up nicely - and it did.
Anyway - I am thinking this is a 1938 - 1942 item.
It measures (about) 21 inches in width, 14 inches in height,
and 10 inches in depth.
The weigh is about 23 - 24 pounds (oak is heavy).
Oh - the 2 "pins" that hold the top 2 drawers (one on each side) in place work
as designed.
All drawers slide in and out nicely - no binding - or hesitation.
The last photo (left side) shows the "dove tail" corners.
These are the "Mark
of a Master Craftsman".
Also - the bottom of every drawer is made of
sheet metal.
This adds strength and stability to each drawer.
I don't think I
took a photo of this.
The main latch is missing the key - all 5 latches work as designed -
and hold the lid tightly in place.
I think that all the hardware is
original - latches, corners, handle hinges, drawers knobs, etc.
The main latch is not marked - so - that is a main way to identify
the manufacturer.
I have replaced all the felt and cleaned the wood.
The buyer should: replace the handle, install the mirror,
install the clamp.
That is about it.
I have the mirror and clamp - but - at age 77 - my fingers
have trouble hanging on to those little screws and nails.
I am also including about 1 yard of green felt - in case you
want to re-do a drawer.
There you go - see the photos and ask any questions that you may
have.
I am retired and Almost always available for meet-up.
