Department: Accounting - CFH Entity: Champaign-Urbana Service Area Job Category: Management Employment Type: Full - Time Job ID: 39013 Experience Required: 3 - 5 Years Education Required: Bachelors Degree Shift: Day Location: Urbana, IL Usual Schedule: M-F; 8-5 On Call Requirements: N/A Work Location: Carle at The Fields Secondary Job Category: Accounting Weekend Requirements: N/A Holiday Requirements: N/A Position Summary: The Manager of Finance & Reporting- Grants and Corporate Entities is responsible for System-wide grants reporting, grants compliance oversight for all Carle entities, and accounting/finance operations of Carle corporate entities and business units.
This includes production of periodic financial reports, oversight of grants reporting, accounting systems, adherence to a comprehensive set of internal controls, management of budgets, oversight of respective Analysts and Accountants, enhance accuracy of organization's reported financial results and ensure reported results comply with GAAP, state and federal regulations.
This position is also responsible for other functional accounting areas as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Six (6) years grants accounting experience, in addition experience with system corporate accounting preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Fiscal grants oversight experience in a complex organization setting including budgeting, recording and analysis of grants activity; knowledge of GAAP, demonstrated leadership and communication skills, strong data management, organizational and computer skills, ability to meet deadlines; self-motivated with ability to learn new concepts.
Essential Functions: Responsible for the oversight of system grant compliance, managerial oversight of accounting and financial operations of certain Carle Corporate business units.
Responsible for the development and supervision of direct reports including hiring, proper training/cross-training, and planning and leading activities.
Manages development, action and goals through the performance management system.
Collaborate with other leaders and staff on problem solving and analysis, communication with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Oversight of annual budgeting and forecasting process of grants and certain Corporate business units, analyze revenue and cost variances against budgets and assist leaders with action planning as needed based upon outcomes of analysis.
Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP, act as a liason to internal and external auditors and other external reporting agencies, assist with preparation and review of quarterly and year-end audited financial statements.
Interpret general ledger internal control needs, including working with internal auditors in planning and implementing solutions in identified areas.
Cultivate continuous process improvement.
Keep abreast of current industry regulations and happenings.
Responsible for other duties as required/assigned.
