Business Administrative Analyst - Office of the Controller (Hybrid) Office of the Controller System Office positions, such as this position, are not eligible for the employee referral program Job Summary Assists with coordinating tasks related to the annual external audit of the University of Illinois System and assists with special projects for the Controller and University Accounting and Financial Reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities 1.
Work closely with Senior Associate Director to coordinate tasks related to the annual external audit of the University of Illinois System, including coordination of external audit responses.
2.
Work with University units and external auditors as liaison to ensure audit documentation is obtained as necessary and responses to auditors are provided in a timely manner.
3.
Assist with coordination of entrance and exit conferences and other meetings.
4.
Research and provide responses to various requests from senior administrators of the University, as appropriate, regarding specific audit requirements and issues.
5.
Assist with coordination of onboarding new external auditors in areas of system access and coordinating training.
6.
Assist with coordination of routing reports, notifications, and other required documentation.
7.
Coordinate activities related to the development of documentation to support external audit functions and efforts for ongoing external audit record keeping.
8.
Assist University Accounting and Financial Reporting with identification of fiscal year-end expense accruals and deferrals.
9.
Represent Senior Associate Director as a member of project teams, committees, and other departmental work groups as needed.
10.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
(NOTE: A Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
) Preferred Qualifications Experience in a University of Illinois college or unit.
Experience developing and implementing business and financial policies and procedures acquired in a business or academic environment.
Project management experience.
Experience with legal, academic, and other types of research.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with Business and Financial Policies and Procedures Manual.
Ability to interpret complex, detailed information presented by subject matter experts regarding business and financial policies/procedures and to develop related documentation produced in a user-friendly format that is instructional and understandable.
Strong analytical skills to review and assess current organizational policies/procedures and determine their overall effectiveness toward achieving organizational success.
Teamwork skills that yield proven results in addressing/resolving issues through collaborative efforts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge related to business and financial operations and good analytical skills.
Strong computer skills that include Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, manage projects within established deadlines, and the ability to coordinate and organize events.
Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/2/2024.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Sponsorship for Work authorization is not available for this position.
