PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Directs the organization’s financial and accounting practices as well as its relationship with patrons and GROWMARK personnel.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervise, lead, and develop administrative, finance, credit, technology, and accounting employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides direction, controls, and makes recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
Consults with Management Staff to provide advice on the financial implications of business and marketing activities.
Manages the processes and leads Management Staff in the preparation of the annual financial and capital budget.
Evaluates mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and insurance activities for the company.
Works with representatives from seed and crop protection vendors to obtain information related to rebates and incentives earned.
Oversees the issuance of all financial information at the location level, including metric analysis and financial acumen training.
Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws as well as GROWMARK policies for financial, capital and tax reporting.
Oversees the cash management and financing decisions of the organization including cash flow forecasting.
Oversees the credit and collection function ensuring compliance with credit policy.
Analyzes appropriate accruals to ensure adequate reserves are recorded.
Supervises the marketing effort of Agri-Finance including the development of Agri-Finance marketing plans and programs.
Oversees the digital technology platforms and IT function including development of capital needs and identification and analysis of technology to enhance the efficiency and profitability of the company.
Oversees payroll functions including overtime hour review, commission payments, etc.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 6 years experience in accounting or finance, or the equivalent thereof, to demonstrate financial leadership in the areas of risk analysis, cost/benefit analysis, internal controls, auditing, and budgeting.
A CPA and/or MBA are preferred.
Experience in managing a team is preferred.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must be able to travel independently and overnight as needed.
Must be able to work hours beyond those considered normal to meet seasonal demands.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
