Job Description
Working closely with the Business office, this individual will perform a variety of professional accounting functions involving current or potential grants, such as assisting with grant budget development; preparing financial statements and assisting with granting agency reports; compiling and submitting monthly grant billing; assisting with preparation for grant audit schedules; and counseling & directing grant project directors regarding the appropriate use of grant funds.
This individual will work closely with the college’s Grant Coordinator, and various grant project directors at the college, to ensure that the institution operates in accordance with applicable legal and contractual requirements, as well as prepare and process grant-related account reconciliations and journal entries.
This position will require a background and credit check.
This is a grant-funded position and subject to continued funding.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
An Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field and at least two to five years experience in the accounting field.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience with Federal, State, and private grant accounting as well as Fund Accounting in an institution of higher education or non-profit is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to make independent decisions; Work in a team environment while providing positive customer service; Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
Ability to organize, schedule, and prioritize work to meet deadlines and the ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
Knowledge of/with computer applications including financial software, spreadsheets, databases and word processing.

Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and calculator on a frequent basis.
Provide timely response to externally and/or internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a 40 hour per week position with normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 with occasional irregular hours.
Summer hours may vary.
This position may be eligible for the College’s Flexible Work Arrangement program.
TRAVEL
This position may require in-district travel for other assigned activities and duties.
Occasional travel to conferences and meetings beyond the College district is possible.
Salary E-10, Minimum Starting $47,093
