Job Description
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller to ensure the accuracy of the College’s general ledger through accounting and reporting functions.
Work with the College’s grant administrators, and external grant authorities to monitor expenditures for compliance, and assist with financial reporting.
Provide assistance with financial analysis, preparation of the College’s annual audit, budget and other special financial reports or projects supported by the Business Office as directed.
This position may subject to a background check including credit check.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required, plus three to five years of experience in the accounting field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Fund Accounting in an institution of higher education or non-profit is preferred.
Experience with grant administration or contractual agreements is preferred.

- Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
- Operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and calculator on a frequent basis.
- Provide timely response to externally and/or internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
- Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure due to deadlines, due dates, etc.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a 40 hour per week position with normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 with occasional irregular hours.
Summer hours may vary.
This position may be eligible for the College’s Flexible Work Arrangement program.
TRAVEL
This position will require in-district travel for other assigned activities and duties.
Travel
to conferences and meetings beyond the College district is likely.
Salary Pay Grade E-12: $58,782
