*Position Reports To: *Lead Minister and Finance Committee *Additional Advocacy and Support Provided By: *Church and Ministry Committee *Function* Monitor and oversee the financial aspects of the church and contractual agreements with regard to the day-to-day business operation of the church.
*Confidentiality* During the course of this work, the business manager will have access to information that is considered confidential.
It is important to respect the confidentiality of others; to follow procedures which protect privacy and to act in a professional manner.
The business manager may be dismissed from the position immediately if found acting indiscreetly with confidential material or not protecting privacy of others through their actions.
*Responsibilities* * Prepare payments; working with vendors, staff, members, etc.
as requested and approved.
* Reconcile bank account(s) on a timely basis.
* Review vendor contracts and make recommendations to Consistory.
* Prepare payroll and related payroll taxes.
* Maintain timesheets and records related to staff PTO.
* Use Church Windows to enter financial transactions (e.
g.
donations, gifts, invoices, payments).
* Provide monthly financial reports to Consistory.
* Track expenditures and create budget analysis as needed for planning purposes.
* Monitor investment and farm accounts, provide reports as needed, and make recommendations.
* Manage all financial records.
* Manage lease agreement for the parsonage.
* Maintain property inventory records.
* Make recommendations for updates/revisions to business processes, procedures, and policies.
* Attend financial committee meetings and other regular staff meetings.
* Communicate with co-workers, visitors, vendors, and congregation in a professional manner.
* Participate as needed on Finance, Memorials, Endowment, or other appropriate committees.

*Work Schedule* The normal work schedule is 20 hours per week.
Building office hours are 8:30 AM – 2 PM Monday through Thursday.
This position has flexibility in timing of these hours but is expected to be present routinely during business hours.
All employees of the Church are subject to the personnel policies of St.
Peter’s United Church of Christ.
*Work Location* This position requires the employee to be on-site for certain money-handling and paperwork tasks with some at-home/remote capability for other work.
*Qualifications for this Position* * Appropriate credentials and/or appropriate work-related experience.
* Experience with bookkeeping, accounting or related field.
* Proficiency in the use of standard office tools.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to pass a background check * Payroll experience (preferred) * Knowledge and/or experience with Church Windows (preferred) *Salary Schedule* This position classified as non-exempt hourly.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.
00 - $22.
