* *Job Duties*
* Provides oversight of the special education cooperative’s employee insurance program including enrollment, termination and problem resolution with employee claims.
Attends insurance company meetings and special education cooperative insurance committee meetings.
* Coordinates with the business manager to fulfill the annual independent audit with the special education cooperative’s certified public accountant.
* Prepares and files necessary reports.
* Prepares and files the annual Teachers’ Retirement System report and supplemental reports including enrollment, retirement and disability.
(Make required monthly contributions to TRS.

* Prepares and files Illinois Municipal Retirement System forms and reports including enrollment, retirement, termination and disability.
Make required monthly contributions to IMRF.
* Supervises accounting operations and preparations of payroll, completes payroll and appropriately closes payroll paying any liabilities or other costs associated with payroll.
* Enters calendars, contracts and any other required information into applicable and appropriate platforms as required by law and the special education cooperative.
* Works with retiring employees to prepare and file all required forms.
* Performs duties related to managing, preventing and/or reducing the special education cooperative’s exposure to liability.
* Serves as the special education cooperative’s liaison to the various consulting services, claim and adjustment services, and insurance companies.
* Works within multiple systems in order to track required data and prepare necessary reports.
* Attends conferences and other job-related workshops throughout the year to keep updated on software transitions and job related changes as necessary.
* Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
* *Qualifications *
* Experience in school financial management.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
* Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents and staff).
* Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
